Penny was the first goat at Almosta Farm. We purchased her from Rising Sun Acres and in addition to getting a great goat we found an excellent goat mentor and friend in Jeanne Prowse. Penny is the undisputed herd matriarch and keeps a close eye on expecting does and spends a lot of time keeping kids in check. On our farm we don’t use the expression stubborn as a goat we just say “stubborn as Penny”.

“Bucky” was our first buck and boy was he a dream. He is a friendly fellow who threw beautiful and conformationally correct kids. He has been on the Elite Buck list for years and prior to his retirement was in the top 5 of Elite bucks. Unfortunately with age he has been less reliable as a breeding buck so he is enjoying his retirement keeping our other boys in check and still enjoying trying to impress the ladies in the pasture next to his.
